Gwangju City Holds Completion Ceremony for Namhansanseong Sports Town

Leaders of institutions and organizations within Gwangju City and residents of Namhansanseong are celebrating the completion of Namhansanseong Sports Town.

Namhansanseong-myeon, Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, announced on the 15th that it successfully held the '11th Namhansanseong-myeon Residents' Day' and the completion ceremony of 'Namhansanseong Sports Town' on the 11th.

The 11th Namhansanseong-myeon Residents' Day, held for the first time in seven years since 2017, featured a variety of programs where residents could enjoy and interact together.

The event began with a performance by the Namhansanseong-myeon Residents' Autonomy Center, followed by sports events to strengthen solidarity and a village singing contest, creating a harmonious occasion where all residents united as one.

During the event, the completion ceremony of 'Namhansanseong Sports Town' was also held. The ceremony started with the unveiling of the 'Greeny Cleany' statue, followed by a progress report and the presentation of a plaque of appreciation to the construction company representative who contributed to the establishment of the Sports Town.

Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, "I sincerely congratulate the holding of the '11th Namhansanseong-myeon Residents' Day,' a grand occasion for resident unity, and the completion ceremony of 'Namhansanseong Sports Town.' Namhansanseong Sports Town will play a significant role in revitalizing the region and enhancing residents' welfare, and we will continue to work together for the sustainable development of Namhansanseong-myeon."

Meanwhile, 'Namhansanseong Sports Town,' established on a 15,065㎡ site, was created as a space for local residents' health and leisure activities, equipped with facilities such as a soccer field, baseball field, and jokgu (gateball) court. It has completed preparations for operation and is scheduled to officially open in November.
