To address the lack of cultural and tourism infrastructure, the Jinhae Cultural Center is being constructed near Jinhae Station with a completion target by the end of this year, and it will offer various cultural and artistic programs such as cultural lectures and local cultural content.
Additionally, the Jinhae Cultural Center and Library in the Pungho-dong area are scheduled to be completed in the first half of next year and open in the second half, providing residents with a complex cultural space including a children's playroom, performance hall, and book cafe.
To develop tourism resources, plans include △creating a viewing-friendly waterfront promenade around Jinhaeru △preserving and utilizing the modern historical and cultural space registered as a national cultural heritage site from Changseon-dong to Daecheon-dong, forming the Jinhae Modern Historical and Cultural Space △and implementing a restoration planning project for Yeojwacheon, the center of the Cherry Blossom Festival, involving public architects to propose project directions, scope, and restoration plans.
To support a healthy daily life, 28 projects such as creating barefoot walking trails, park golf courses, maintaining hiking trails, and installing sports facilities will be promoted, along with improving residents' convenience by repairing old roads and expanding parking lots.
Furthermore, to build a safe city against disasters and accidents, maintenance of streams and rivers and the repair of hazardous pedestrian paths will be carried out.
Jung Hyun-seop, head of Jinhae-gu, said, “We will enhance convenience through the expansion of cultural and tourism infrastructure, creation of barefoot walking trails, and installation of sports facilities, while reducing inconveniences by repairing old roads and eliminating disaster safety risks. All staff will do their best to ensure residents can feel the changes in their daily lives every year.”
