Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, departed for a business trip to the United States on the 15th.

On the same day, Governor Kim posted on his social media (SNS), saying, "Heading to expand the future of Gyeonggi Province, the startup paradise," as a farewell message before departure.

Governor Kim will visit the eastern U.S. regions, including Virginia and New York, from the 15th to the 21st of this month to support the global expansion of startups in the province, attract investment, and strengthen international exchange and cooperation.

This is Governor Kim's third visit to the United States since taking office.

Accompanying Governor Kim on this trip are 31 representatives from 22 startups based in the province.

Key schedules include signing an agreement with the United Korean Federation (UKF) to support mutual startup market entry. The UKF is a non-profit organization established by Korean entrepreneurs in the Americas to support the creation of a startup ecosystem. Additionally, they will participate in the '2024 NYC Startup Summit' hosted by the UKF.

During this visit, Governor Kim will also engage in practical investment attraction activities. He will sign investment agreements with Company A, a global leader in industrial safety certification, and Company B, a foreign-invested company specializing in logistics center investment and development platforms.

Governor Kim will discuss innovative alliances in strategic industries and future growth sectors such as startups and biotechnology with Glenn Youngkin, Governor of Virginia. He is also scheduled to meet Kathy Hochul, Governor of New York, to propose material resources, human and technological exchanges, and economic cooperation in the startup sector.
