The US Dow Jones Industrial Average surpassed the 43,000 mark for the first time, and after the New York stock market closed higher across the board, the KOSPI opened at 2,633.05 points, up 9.08 points following the previous day's recovery above 2,600 points on the 15th. The KOSDAQ also rose slightly. Employees are working in the dealing room at the Hana Bank headquarters in Euljiro, Seoul.
