The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will conduct a survey from the 16th of this month to the 15th of next month targeting 20 traditional markets and 2 shopping districts within the city to utilize in establishing support policies for traditional markets and shopping districts.

The survey targets businesses operating in Suwon's traditional markets and shopping districts engaged in manufacturing, wholesale and retail, lodging and food services, repair, and other personal services.

Surveyors will visit businesses in person to investigate 38 items including ▲business status ▲business owner status ▲type of business ▲number of employees ▲business operations ▲sales and customers ▲modernization of commercial infrastructure ▲improvement of parking environment ▲management modernization, and more.

Suwon City will analyze the survey results and publish a report in December. Additionally, the analyzed data will be used to establish customized support plans and to build a data-driven local commercial district analysis system.

A Suwon City official stated, "The collected data will be used solely for statistical purposes, and personal information will be strictly protected in accordance with the Statistics Act," adding, "We ask for the active cooperation of local merchants when surveyors visit to support the development of traditional markets and shopping districts."
