LG Electronics announced on the 15th that it will screen a campaign video commemorating 'World Food Day (October 16)' on outdoor billboards in Times Square, New York, USA, and Piccadilly Circus, London, UK, until the 24th (local time).


World Food Day is an international observance established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to raise awareness about global food shortages and hunger issues and to promote efforts to address them.

This activity is part of LG Electronics' global social contribution program, 'LG Hope Screen.' 'LG Hope Screen' has supported raising public awareness of global issues by screening public interest videos from international organizations and NGOs on LG Electronics' billboards in New York and London, highlighting environmental protection, disaster relief, and the United Nations General Assembly.


This year's campaign video, produced by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, is themed 'Right to foods for a better life and a better future.' It shows food production and sharing across various cultures worldwide, conveying the message that everyone should have access to diverse foods with sufficient nutrition and safety.


In addition, LG Electronics is practicing its ESG vision, 'Better Life for All,' by carrying out activities worldwide to ensure the right to be free from hunger.


Notably, this year, the India branch is conducting the 'Life's Good Nutrition Program' campaign, which provides nutritious meals to public school students to address adolescent malnutrition. India ranked 105th out of 127 countries surveyed in the 2024 Global Hunger Index.


Furthermore, LG Electronics is engaged in meal support activities tailored to local conditions for vulnerable groups in various countries, including Nigeria's 'Warmth of Happiness,' Mexico's 'Street Breakfast Donation,' Indonesia's 'LG Loves and Cares,' and Iraq's 'Meal Parcel Delivery.'
