Park Seong-ho, Adjunct Professor at Sungshin Women's University, Appointed as the First Conductor of Gyeonggi-do Disabled Orchestra
원본보기 아이콘Professor Park Seong-ho, adjunct professor at Sungshin Women's University, has been appointed as the inaugural conductor of the Gyeonggi-do Disabled Orchestra, which will be established in December.
Gyeonggi-do announced on the 15th that after two rounds of evaluation of 31 conductors who applied last month, Professor Park Seong-ho was finally selected as the conductor.
Conductor Park Seong-ho majored in orchestral conducting at Hanyang University College of Music and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Poland. He is currently a member of the Gangnam Symphony Orchestra and an adjunct professor in the Instrumental Music Department at Sungshin Women's University College of Music.
From 2006 to 2013, Conductor Park Seong-ho also served as the inaugural conductor of the Heart Heart Orchestra, an orchestra for people with developmental disabilities.
Starting from the 21st, Conductor Park Seong-ho will begin preparations for the establishment of the Gyeonggi-do Disabled Orchestra and will take up the baton from November 4th, after the final selection of members is completed.
A Gyeonggi-do official stated, "A qualified person with rich experience in conducting orchestras for people with disabilities and musical expertise has been selected. We expect him to lead the orchestra well by demonstrating leadership tailored to the members' level so that they can steadily grow."
