Mirae Asset Securities Obtains International Personal Data Protection Standard 'ISO 27701 Certification'

Mirae Asset Securities announced on the 14th that it obtained the international personal information protection standard 'ISO 27701 certification' on the 7th through an audit by DNV, a certification body in the field of global information security management.

Mirae Asset Securities previously acquired the international certification for information security management system (ISO 27001) in 2010 and the domestic certification for information security and personal information protection management system (ISMS-P) in 2021. By obtaining the ISO 27701 certification this time, Mirae Asset Securities has proven its global personal information protection management capabilities.

The ISO 27701 certification is the most authoritative international standard certification in the field of personal information protection, established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) to set global standards for personal information protection. It is issued only when compliance with 49 certification criteria across 8 areas covering the entire personal information life cycle?including personal information collection and processing, and protection of data subject rights?is confirmed.

Mirae Asset Securities strengthened its personal information protection management system to prepare for the acceleration of innovative financial services centered on data utilization such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, as well as the trend of strengthening global compliance in various countries, thereby obtaining this certification.

Through this, it is expected to greatly contribute to establishing compliance with revised personal information protection laws related to cross-border data transfers, enhancing the safety of innovative financial services such as generative AI technology linked with global companies, and simultaneously ensuring the security of customer information.
