Busan Metropolitan City has newly selected three pet-related companies as the '2024 Busan Animal Love Angel Companies' and awarded them the Angel Company nameplates on the 5th.
The newly selected companies are Korea Companion Animal Culture Food Research Institute, Lazy Kitchen, and Isoblending.
These companies donated goods worth about 2.2 million KRW, including 100kg of handmade pet snacks, to the 'Animal Love Sharing Bank.' The donated items will be used for the protection and welfare activities of animals in need through animal protection organizations in the Busan area.
The Angel Company nameplate award ceremony was held on the stage of Hwamyeong Ecological Park, the venue for the pet culture festival 'With Pet Star' hosted by the city on the 5th.
Along with the representatives of the three newly selected companies, a representative from the Busan branch of the Korean Red Cross, which was selected as an Animal Love Angel Company in August, attended the ceremony and received the nameplate.
Since 2018, the city has been selecting companies that practice the value of respecting life and contribute to animal protection and welfare by donating pet food, clothing, and supplies to the 'Animal Love Sharing Bank' as 'Animal Love Angel Companies.'
From 2018 to this year, a total of 39 companies have been selected as Animal Love Angel Companies, and the total amount of donated goods, including pet food, has reached about 24.8 tons, which has been distributed to animal protection organizations and entrusted animal shelters in the Busan area.
Companies wishing to participate in corporate social contribution activities through the Animal Love Sharing Bank can contact the city's Livestock and Distribution Division.
Shim Seongtae, director of the city's Marine, Agriculture, and Fisheries Bureau, said, "We thank those who participated in donations despite difficult economic conditions," and added, "We hope that this sponsorship of donated goods will serve as an opportunity to spread the culture of animal love and sharing. The city will continue to strive for the coexistence of people and animals."
