Yang Soo-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City, is conducting the appointment ceremony of the "4th Yangju City Population Policy Coordination Committee" on the 10th in the situation room on the 2nd floor of the city hall to deliberate and approve policies in preparation for a low birthrate and aging society.
On the 10th, Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced that it held the appointment ceremony for the "4th Yangju City Population Policy Coordination Committee" in the situation room on the 2nd floor of City Hall to deliberate and decide on policies in preparation for a low birthrate and aging society.
The "4th Yangju City Population Policy Coordination Committee" consists of a total of 14 members, including 5 ex officio members such as Vice Mayor Kim Jeong-min as the chairman, and 9 appointed members with expertise in various fields, including city council members, professors related to population policy, and heads of related organizations.
The appointed committee members will perform advisory and deliberative functions during their term regarding the city's population policy, analysis of mid- to long-term population structure in preparation for low birthrate, socioeconomic change forecasts, and policies to create an environment favorable to childbirth and childcare.
Following the appointment ceremony, a meeting was held to share the "2024 Yangju City Population Policy Implementation Plan," which was established with the goal of "creating a city where everyone is happy in response to changes in population structure."
Mayor Kang Su-hyun stated, "We will actively promote systematic and practical policies that all citizens can feel in preparation for low birthrate and aging," and added, "I ask for the valuable opinions and cooperation of the members of the '4th Population Policy Coordination Committee' so that various policies to prevent population outflow and overcome low birthrate can be implemented."
