On the 10th, the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office announced that it had indicted Jeong without detention on the 8th on charges of false commentary and prohibition of false reporting under the Public Official Election Act.

Jeong is accused of falsely announcing poll results that appeared favorable to him as if they were results from the entire district electorate through YouTube and other platforms during the Democratic Party primary for the Gangbuk-eul district held in February.

At the time, Jeong's side distributed materials stating that "the poll results show he is trailing his primary opponent, then-lawmaker Park Yong-jin, by about 15 percentage points in support." However, it was confirmed that the actual poll results for the entire Gangbuk-eul electorate showed Jeong at 17.8% and Park at 37.6%.
