Cosmetics specialist Audin Futures announced on the 10th that its in-house brand NEOGEN set a new record for highest sales during the 2024 Q3 "Japan Mega Wari Event," held from August 31 to September 12 this year.
Mega Wari is a discount event hosted by Qoo10, a leading e-commerce channel in Japan. It takes place once every quarter, totaling four times a year. The promotion is known for generating huge buzz, including server crashes right at the start.
During this Mega Wari, NEOGEN’s flagship product, the "Niacinamide Glow Up Daily Mask," achieved early sell-out records through a collaboration with popular Japanese actress and beauty creator Saeko. Additionally, after appointing Seventeen’s leader S.Coups as a model, NEOGEN ranked first in the real-time mascara category for the Q3 Mega Wari.
According to the company, the appointment of S.Coups played a crucial role beyond merely leveraging a celebrity’s image, helping NEOGEN target the younger demographic. Industry insiders analyze that recent Japanese consumers tend to value emotional connections with their favorite celebrities, not just product purchases.
A company representative stated, “S.Coups strengthened the connection between NEOGEN and consumers,” adding, “We aim to achieve maximum results in the Q4 Japan promotion with model S.Coups and expect great success in the Japanese market by further expanding to Rakuten and Amazon.”
