"Come to Korean Regional Airports"... Korea Airports Corporation Participates in Global Route Development Conference

Active Promotion of Gimhae and Cheongju Airports

Korea Airports Corporation attended an international event held in Bahrain to promote the attraction of international routes to domestic regional airports.


On the 10th, Korea Airports Corporation announced that it participated in the '2024 World Route Development Forum,' held in Bahrain from the 6th, and conducted promotional activities for opening routes at domestic regional airports targeting airports and airlines worldwide.


Now in its 29th year, the World Route Development Forum is the world's largest aviation route development event. This year, about 700 organizations, including 230 airlines and 329 airport operators, participated to establish a cooperative system for developing new routes.


The corporation met with 15 overseas airlines and airport operators to actively emphasize the potential of Gimhae and Cheongju Airports. To promptly launch new routes from regional airports to Bali, Indonesia, and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where traffic rights were recently established, meetings were held with Garuda Indonesia and Uzbekistan Airports Corporation. For the launch of new routes to Sapporo and Kobe in Japan, and the conversion of the Cheongju?Cebu, Philippines route to a regular service, discussions were held with Hokkaido Airport Corporation, Kansai Airport, and Cebu Airport Corporation.


Heo Ju-hee, Head of the Glocal Business Division at Korea Airports Corporation, stated, "Through cooperation with airlines and airports from various countries, we will expand the air network originating from regional areas and continue to do our best to enhance the convenience of air travel for local residents."
