By utilizing these safety management devices, crimes can be prevented in advance and emergencies can be responded to swiftly.
The installed safety devices include: 53 "emergency bells" that connect directly to the local police station control room when pressed to request help; 36 "safety notification devices" that detect movement upon restroom entry and play an audio message; and 32 "three-sided mirrors," a registered utility model product under the name of Ulju County, which eliminate blind spots in restroom stalls.
In addition, Ulju County plans to lead the way in improving the safety and convenience of public restrooms by proactively promoting projects such as auditory CPTED for youth crime prevention and a smart public restroom remote monitoring system, as well as discovering and establishing various other initiatives.
An Ulju County official stated, "The image of our public restrooms is directly linked to the image of Ulju County, so we will do our utmost to ensure that both residents and tourists can use public restrooms with peace of mind."
