Lee Kyung-hoon had a steady start.
On the 3rd (local time), at the Jackson Country Club (par 72, 7,461 yards) in Jackson, Mississippi, USA, Lee Kyung-hoon shot a 4-under-par 68 in the first round of the PGA Tour Sanderson Farms Championship (total prize money $7.6 million), finishing tied for 37th place. He made six birdies and two bogeys. After reducing one stroke in the front nine holes, Lee Kyung-hoon made five consecutive birdies from holes 13 to 17 in the back nine. Lee Kyung-hoon has two PGA Tour wins. This year, he has recorded three top-10 finishes, with the most recent being a tie for 9th place at the 3M Open in July.
David Skinns (England) fired 12 birdies, leading by three strokes at the top (12-under-par 60). Michael Torbjonson is in second place (9-under-par 63), Gary Woodland and Ben Griffin are tied for third (8-under-par 64), and Patton Kizzire, who won the previous tournament, the Pro Core Championship (all USA), is tied for fifth place (7-under-par 65). Meanwhile, Rickie Fowler (USA) is tied for 54th place (3-under-par 69), last year's champion Luke List (USA) is tied for 73rd place (2-under-par 70), and Kim Sung-hyun struggled, tied for 114th place (1-over-par 73).
