The Joint Chiefs of Staff stated, "Considering the wind direction, the balloon may move to northern Gyeonggi and the Seoul metropolitan area," and urged caution regarding falling payloads. They also requested that people do not touch fallen balloons and report them to the military or police.

North Korea released a balloon two days after the last one on the 2nd. This marks the 24th time this year that North Korea has sent balloons southward.
