This year's conference, held in Pohang for the first time in Gyeongbuk Province under the theme "New Agriculture and Rural Communities, Advancing Rural Leaders," attracted more than 15,000 visitors from across the country, including rural leaders. The event contributed greatly to revitalizing the local economy and promoting local agricultural products and tourist attractions.

On the first day, September 30, a symposium was held on the topic of changes in agriculture due to climate change. A skills competition featuring practical skills such as welding and forklift operation among rural leader representatives from across the nation also drew attention.

On October 1, the highlight of the event, the main conference ceremony, took place at the Pohang Sports Complex.

The ceremony began with a traditional drum performance and included an awards presentation for contributors to agricultural development and a performance presenting the future vision of rural leaders. After the ceremony, trot singers Jeon Yujin, Kim Dana, and Bae Ahyeon, all from Pohang, gave celebratory performances that heightened the festive atmosphere.

For visitors from all over the country, side events included healing agriculture experience programs such as strawberry planting and making chive cakes. The Pohang New Vitality Plus Project Team also participated, offering spaces to experience, taste, and sample local agricultural products and foods, which received a great response.

In addition, more than 20 agricultural machinery and equipment companies participated, operating an exhibition hall showcasing the latest agricultural equipment and advanced machinery. Around 40 cultural guides were stationed at major tourist attractions in Pohang to provide guided tours for visitors during the national conference.

The event concluded successfully with a closing ceremony on October 2. Outstanding agricultural products from 17 cities and provinces displayed during the conference were donated to local welfare facilities in Pohang.

Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "I hope this conference provided a vision for the future of rural leaders nationwide and served as a venue for unity among members. Pohang will continue to respond quickly to the adoption of advanced technologies and strive to lead sustainable agriculture."
