The leadership of the People Power Party stated that the opposition's attempt to re-vote on the Broadcasting Act, the Yellow Envelope Act, and the Livelihood Recovery Support Act must be decisively rejected in the plenary session.
On the 26th, Choo Kyung-ho, floor leader of the People Power Party, said at a party meeting held at the National Assembly, "Today, the plenary session will reconsider the Broadcasting Domination 4 Laws, which the president has requested a re-examination (veto), the Cash Distribution Act that disperses up to 18 trillion won in cash, and the Illegal Strike Promotion Act (Yellow Envelope Act)."
Floor leader Choo emphasized, "The Broadcasting Domination 4 Laws threaten freedom of the press and democracy, and the Cash Distribution Act and Illegal Strike Promotion Act are bad laws that will destroy our economy. All of these laws have many constitutional and legal issues. They were unilaterally pushed through without proper consultation between the ruling and opposition parties, relying solely on the power of the large opposition party."
He added, "It is true that some express fatigue over the repetitive political deadlock caused by the opposition's forced passage and the president's veto. However, the responsibility for this repetitive deadlock clearly lies with the large opposition party, the Democratic Party, which unilaterally passes bad laws using its majority seats without sufficient social consensus and bipartisan consultation."
Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, also said at the party meeting, "Of course, the public may be tired of the Democratic Party's series of bad laws being repeated. However, blocking this series of bad laws is about protecting people's livelihoods. It is something we must do, and I urge us to properly fulfill this duty."
Leader Han stated that despite the conflict between the ruling and opposition parties over re-voting on contentious bills in the plenary session, they agreed to pass more than 70 livelihood-related bills. He said, "Separately from the existing conflicts, the fact that we are handling these for the people's livelihood is the result of your efforts, enduring humiliating situations, cooperating, and working with the people in mind. Let us fulfill the promise to practice politics that puts the people first and serves the people."
On the same day, the ruling and opposition parties plan to pass more than 70 livelihood-related bills in the plenary session, including the Deepfake Sexual Crime Punishment Act and the Maternity Protection 3 Laws.
