Park Se-hyun, the newly appointed Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office, stated on the 23rd, "The only path the prosecution should take in the current situation is to earn the trust of the people by faithfully fulfilling its fundamental duties of protecting citizens from crime and safeguarding their human rights."

At the inauguration ceremony held at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office that morning, Chief Prosecutor Park said, "The prosecution often does not receive sufficient trust from the public, and sometimes faces excessive attacks beyond criticism." He added, "We will ensure prompt and thorough investigations so that all citizens feel neither anxious nor uncomfortable under the protection of the law, and we will make decisions solely based on evidence and legal principles." He also emphasized, "The foundation of our work is to make appropriate decisions based on facts and legal principles in a timely manner," and stated, "I will humbly listen first to different perspectives both inside and outside the prosecution."

Chief Prosecutor Park was appointed as the 57th Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office, succeeding former Chief Prosecutor Im Gwan-hyeok, in the personnel announcement for prosecutors at the level of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office made by the Ministry of Justice on the 19th. A graduate of the 29th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, Park served as the first specialized spokesperson of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office during the time when President Yoon Seok-youl was Prosecutor General, and has held positions such as head of the Eastern Branch of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office and head of the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office.
