On the 23rd, SK Broadband celebrated its 27th anniversary with President Park Jin-hyo and over 60 employees participating in an environmental cleanup volunteer activity at Ichon Hangang Park.
The company stated that this volunteer activity was conducted to express gratitude to customers and society, who have been the backbone of the company's growth and development.
It was also organized to spread positive influence through contributions to the local community and to practice ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. Notably, this event marked the first time since COVID-19 that all executives, including the CEO, participated.
President Park and the employees removed invasive plant species disrupting the ecosystem within Ichon Hangang Park and cleaned various areas of the park. They received training on how to efficiently remove invasive species in the Hangang River, where chemical agents cannot be used, and worked to protect native species.
SK Broadband has been committed to environmental protection by providing eco-friendly remote controls and set-top boxes certified as low-carbon products. Last year, it also received the 'Carbon Management Sector Honors' award in the telecommunications sector from a global sustainability evaluation organization.
President Park said, "Environmental protection and contributing to the local community are our important responsibilities," adding, "We will continue to practice ESG management with gratitude toward our customers."
