Kim Min-hyung, former SBS announcer and wife of Kim Dae-heon, Chief Planning Officer of Hoban Group, has been appointed as Executive Director of the Group Communication Office. Kim, the former announcer, is known to be in charge of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) social contribution-related tasks within the Co-prosperity Team of the Communication Office. The group also recently reorganized its existing public relations organization into the Communication Office. Through her personal social media (SNS), Kim has shared her participation in social contribution activities such as 'Hoban Love Sharing volunteer work at the War Memorial' and 'Beach Plogging Ice Bucket Challenge.'
Born in 1993, Kim Min-hyung graduated from Seoul Women’s University with a degree in Visual Design and completed graduate studies in Media and Public Relations at Yonsei University. She worked as a contract announcer at MBC for two years starting in 2016 and joined SBS in 2018. She appeared on programs such as '8 o’clock News,' 'Curious Story Y,' and 'Sports Tonight,' establishing herself as a flagship announcer at SBS.
Kim comes from a family of independence activists. Her paternal grandfather was the late Kim Gyu-won. Through a company newsletter, Kim revealed, “My grandfather (Kim Gyu-won) awakened his national consciousness while studying in Japan and was arrested and sentenced for promoting the independence movement to others.” After Korea’s liberation on August 15, Kim Gyu-won served as a professor at Busan Fisheries University, executive director of Daehan Jungseok, and participated as a founding member of Pohang Steel, becoming an executive director in 1968. In 1993, he was awarded the Order of Merit for National Foundation by the South Korean government in recognition of his contributions to the anti-Japanese movement.
Kim resigned from SBS in November 2020 and held a private wedding ceremony with President Kim in December of the same year. President Kim is the eldest son of Kim Sang-yeol, founder of Hoban Group. He graduated from Seoul High School, earned a degree in Golf Industry Studies from Kyung Hee University, and holds a master’s degree in business administration from Korea University Graduate School of Business. President Kim is promoting new business development through eco-friendly construction technology and startup investments.
