After retirement, he served as a professor, graduate school dean, and vice president for external cooperation at the Graduate School of International Urban Sciences at the University of Seoul, focusing mainly on global construction, urban and infrastructure development, and international development cooperation.
In his acceptance speech, Chairman Han said, "Currently, overseas construction faces uncertain conditions such as global trade conflicts, unstable international politics, and concerns over an economic downturn in the United States. It is a critical time to find a new breakthrough in the overseas construction industry, where the paradigm is shifting from simple contracting and construction projects to high value-added overseas investment development projects and participation in eco-friendly and low-carbon businesses. I feel a heavy responsibility in taking on this important role."
He continued, "To enhance sustainable overseas order vitality and secure the competitiveness of our companies in the fierce overseas market, I will promptly devise various support measures and actively propose them to related organizations. I will also support efforts to foster the strongest 'Overseas Construction Team Korea' by drawing cooperation among diverse actors in the private sector, public sector, and government," he emphasized.
