Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on September 7th at 10 a.m., the one-person household health walking challenge "Welcome to Chicken Run" will be held at Anyangcheon Multipurpose Square.
The "Welcome to Chicken Run" event is designed to promote health through walking activities for one-person households and to provide opportunities for meeting others, thereby activating communication among one-person households.
Previously, the one-person household walking challenge was conducted non-face-to-face using the "WalkOn" app, but based on suggestions from a one-person household forum that there is a need for opportunities to exercise and communicate together, this year's event is prepared as an in-person gathering.
The walking course is approximately 3.5 km round trip from Anyangcheon Multipurpose Square to Siheung Distribution Market. Participants will perform five missions along the course after stretching: ▲Getting to Know You Q&A ▲Jegichagi (Korean shuttlecock kicking) ▲Bingo ▲One-Person Household Quiz ▲Taking Group Photos.
Participants who complete the missions will be provided with Dakgangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken), and there will be a time for participants to gather and communicate at Anyangcheon Multipurpose Square.
Also, the Geumcheon-gu Family Center (Director Jeon Jong-mi), which organizes the event, plans to hold a raffle to offer various prizes and souvenirs such as travel vouchers, coffee makers, and Onnuri gift certificates to participants.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "I hope this will be an opportunity for one-person households to walk together, gain vitality and health, and communicate," adding, "We will continue to strive to support the healthy lives and bonding of one-person households."
Meanwhile, in May, the district held a free discussion session with 100 one-person households on policies and ideas needed in various fields such as housing, jobs, social networks, and safety, and is preparing to promote one-person household projects based on the outcomes.
