Doosan Construction Wins GD Mark in Two Categories at the 2024 Good Design Award

Doosan Construction announced on the 29th that two of its entries won the GD (Good Design) mark at the '2024 Good Design Awards.'

The Good Design Awards is the most prestigious design award in Korea, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion. It has been held annually since 1985 under the Industrial Design Promotion Act, and selected works are granted the right to use the Good Design (GD) mark.

The Good Design selections submitted by Doosan Construction include Yurimwon (流林園), a complex garden of S-Class The Zenith located in Gwangju Metropolitan City, and the Flap Bathroom Cabinet.

Yurimwon is a complex garden designed to incorporate the three elements of water, forest, and garden. The complex where Yurimwon was created is adjacent to Gwangju Stream and was historically called Yurimchon, meaning a village with many willows and a good living environment. Yurimwon is a nature-inspired garden that features a 100-meter-long stream, a pond, and a rock mountain to create a waterside landscape, and it is planted with various trees to realize a diverse scenery.

The Flap Bathroom Cabinet is characterized by its design where the door opens upward rather than sliding or swinging, and the lower part remains open, allowing frequently used items to be placed conveniently. It applies products from the German company H?fele to enhance durability and features a free-stop function that allows the door to be opened and closed at the desired angle.

Inside the Flap Bathroom Cabinet, a multi-purpose sterilizer is installed. The open cabinet is equipped with lighting, an outlet, and a USB charging port to increase convenience. The Flap Bathroom Cabinet will be initially offered as an option in a total of five complexes, including Doosan We've The Zenith Central Yongin.

Doosan Construction stated, "In line with the meaning of our residential brand We've, we continuously develop products that meet customers' needs," adding, "We will continue to develop products with We've's unique sensibility to create better living spaces."
