Bando Construction has developed a technology in collaboration with a partner company that links fire detectors with electric laundry drying racks, enabling the racks to automatically fold when a fire occurs.
On the 27th, Bando Construction announced that it signed a joint technology development agreement for the 'Fire Detection Auto-Folding Electric Laundry Drying Rack' as part of a win-win cooperation with its partner company, CNET.
The two companies are jointly developing the technology and have filed a patent application. While existing electric laundry drying racks only allow height adjustment, the fire-detecting laundry drying rack developed by the two companies is designed to automatically fold the rack upon detecting a fire.
In fire situations, the large volume of laundry can obstruct visibility and movement paths to lightweight partitions, which serve as internal evacuation facilities in homes. Taking this into consideration, Bando Construction developed a technology where the electric laundry drying rack automatically folds in response to the fire detector's signal, allowing residents to quickly locate and move toward evacuation facilities.
Starting with this agreement, the two companies plan to collaborate in various areas including ▲joint research and development for the technology development and commercialization of the product ▲joint intellectual property application and management ▲joint marketing ▲supporting CNET’s technological competitiveness ▲joint participation in government-supported projects.
Lee Jeong-ryeol, Head of Construction Division at Bando Construction, said, "We are developing technologies to enhance safety inside and outside homes in cooperation with our partners to create a fire-safe living environment." He added, "We have completed the patent application for the fire detection auto-folding electric laundry drying rack technology, and once registration is finalized, we plan to sequentially introduce it at the Bando Ubora and Kaive Ubora sites."
