The small country of Andorra, with a population of 85,000, is considering imposing a kind of toll on foreign vehicles as it attracts 10 million tourists annually, according to a report by France's Le Figaro on the 22nd (local time).
According to the report, Andorra faced issues such as environmental damage as it attracted 10 million tourists last year, which is 120 times its own population. Located between France and Spain, Andorra has a land area of about 468 km², roughly two-thirds the size of Seoul.
In response, Andorra is considering imposing a toll sticker tax on foreign vehicles, taking Switzerland's example into account. In Switzerland, vehicles using highways or national roads are required to purchase a toll vignette. Driving without a vignette results in a fine.
