Iskra Secures Strategic Investment from Coinbase, GSR, and Planetarium Labs

"To Evolve into an All-in-One Web3 Game Platform"

Web3 blockchain game platform ISKRA announced on the 22nd that it has secured strategic investments from global blockchain investment firms such as Coinbase Ventures and GSR, as well as Web3 game developer Planetarium Labs. The scale and method of the investment are undisclosed due to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

Through this strategic investment, ISKRA plans to promote the activation of the BASE chain-based ecosystem. Notably, the BASE Ecosystem Fund led by Coinbase Ventures participated in this investment. ISKRA intends to expand the BASE ecosystem based on a technical review for applying BASE’s key products, Smart Wallet and Paymaster.

Founded in 2022, ISKRA is a tech startup operating a platform that supports everything from game launches to governance token sales based on blockchain technology. After raising approximately 52 billion KRW in seed funding, it is expanding its Web3 gaming domain globally. In April, ISKRA also secured strategic investment from Animoca Brands, a blockchain investment firm based in Hong Kong. With this latest investment, ISKRA plans to focus on increasing active users within its internal community and expanding the BASE-based ecosystem.

Jae-seok Kim, CEO of Planetarium Labs, said, “We have been continuously monitoring ISKRA’s progress since its founding. The steady advancement toward its goals without being swayed by market fluctuations was the reason for our investment decision.” He added, “We have high expectations for expanding the BASE-based ecosystem together with ISKRA. Based on the strong user bases and characteristics of both companies, we plan to continue solid cooperation.”

Hong-gyu Lee, CEO of ISKRA, stated, “It is significant that various key players in the domestic and international Web3 sectors have gathered for this strategic investment.” He added, “Based on this strategic investment, we will activate the BASE-based ISKRA ecosystem and evolve into an all-in-one Web3 game platform.”
