Architecture Awards Voted Directly by Seoul Citizens... "Vote for the Special Award"

Among 9 Award-Winning Architectural Works,
2 Selected by Citizens' Most Votes

Seoul City announced on the 22nd that voting for the 'Citizen Sympathy Special Award,' chosen directly by citizens from the architectural award winners, will be held until the 31st.

The Citizen Sympathy Special Award selects and honors the top two works most chosen by citizens from among the nine winners of the Seoul City Architectural Awards. By verifying their mobile phones through the Seoul City e-voting website and mobile web, citizens can vote without a separate membership registration process. An event allowing participants to submit free reviews of the winning works and awarding prizes to a total of nine people selected for outstanding reviews will also be held online until the 31st of this month.

The awards ceremony for a total of 11 awards, including the Citizen Sympathy Special Award, will take place at the '16th Seoul Architecture Culture Festival' held at the Seoul Urban Architecture Exhibition Hall in October. The theme of this year's Seoul Architecture Culture Festival is set as "Jip (集): People build a Jip (家) for the Jip (集)." Architect Kim Ho-min is serving as the general director. In addition to the architectural award-winning works, exhibitions will include the University Architecture Union (UAUS) pavilion planning, university cooperation Moa Town project award-winning works, and winning entries from the vacant house utilization idea citizen contest.

Han Byung-yong, Director of the Housing Office of Seoul City, said, "We hope citizens feel the reward of directly choosing through their participation in the voting," and added, "We will do our best to prepare a special experience where we can envision the future of Seoul together through the Architecture Culture Festival in October."
