This investigation will be concentrated in key camping areas such as Gapyeong-gun, Uijeongbu-si, and Yangpyeong-gun. In particular, it will focus on checking the condition of facilities directly related to safety and various factors that could threaten the safety of residents.
The main investigation items include ▲whether facilities, equipment, and playgrounds are being operated safely, including the discharge of wastewater from campgrounds ▲whether food safety standards such as expiration dates, country of origin labeling, and storage criteria are being properly followed ▲damage to areas around campgrounds such as unauthorized expansion of business areas in mountain and Greenbelt zones.
Gi Do, head of the Gyeonggi-do Special Judicial Police Unit, stated, "Illegal campgrounds are a matter directly related to the safety of residents, so thorough investigations are necessary," and added, "We will do our best to eradicate illegal activities through this investigation and create an environment where residents can enjoy camping with peace of mind."
Meanwhile, since July 31st until the end of August, the Special Judicial Police Unit has been investigating 360 river and valley sites across the province for illegal occupation of rivers and public waters, unregistered food service businesses, and illegal campground operations.
