원본보기 아이콘It was recently revealed that First Lady Kim Geon-hee, wife of President Yoon Seok-yeol, visited the exhibition hall in Gamcheon Culture Village, Busan, on the 7th during her summer vacation to encourage young artists and purchase artworks.
Ceramic artist Gong Min-ji (36) recently posted photos on Instagram showing Mrs. Kim viewing the artworks, writing, "A special person visited my solo exhibition," and added, "She carefully appreciated each of my works at the exhibition, offering kind comments and encouragement without hesitation."
Gong said, "We talked about the artworks, and she gave me a lot of helpful advice," and "She purchased one of my pieces." She continued, "It was a moving moment to have the time I have devoted to my art recognized, and it made me want to work even harder," adding, "I am grateful that she became a collector of my work, and I will repay her with good art."
Earlier this month, during her summer vacation, Mrs. Kim visited Busan for two consecutive days on the 6th and 7th. On the 6th, she visited Busan’s Ggangtong Market and the local specialty product development company 'Myeongran Brand Research Institute,' and on the 7th, she toured the Busan Jung-gu Modern History Museum and visited Hinyeoul Culture Village and Gamcheon Culture Village, which were villages where refugees gathered during the Korean War.
