On the first day of the three-game series between the Samsung Lions and the Doosan Bears in the 2024 KBO League held in Pohang, the Samsung Lions achieved a complete 3-0 victory on their promised land, Pohang.

The game began with the ceremonial first pitch by Mayor Lee Kangdeok and the first hit by City Council Chairman Kim Ilman, and with a strong performance by starting pitcher Won Taein, Samsung secured a 3-0 win.

With this victory, Samsung extended their winning streak to four games and narrowed the gap with the leading Kia Tigers to five games, firmly maintaining their second-place position.
