On the 20th (local time), the U.S. Democratic Party officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as its presidential candidate through a delegate roll call vote at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) held in Chicago. Unlike the previous day when she made a surprise appearance to attend President Joe Biden's speech, Harris did not attend the convention site on the second day of the Democratic National Convention. Instead, she campaigned in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a battleground state, together with her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and their appearance was briefly shown via video connection at the convention site.

Vice President Harris’s video connection took place after the official roll call vote endorsing her and Governor Walz as the Democratic candidates was completed by the delegates attending the convention that day. She emphasized, "We are honored to be your candidates" and "Together, we will chart a new path forward." Earlier this month, Harris was selected as the presidential candidate in an online roll call vote.

On the final day of the convention, June 22, she is scheduled to officially deliver the Democratic presidential candidate acceptance speech and present her vision for governance.

During her campaign rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a battleground state, Harris warned that the United States is facing a greater crisis than ever before in its history. She cautioned that the risk has increased as her competitor, former President Donald Trump, seeks a second term. She criticized the Supreme Court’s immunity ruling that weakened Trump’s judicial risks and accused him of promising to become a dictator on his first day in office.

According to The Guardian and other daily newspapers, a brief medical emergency occurred at the rally site. In response, Harris, who was on stage, requested medical assistance and asked attendees to make way. Afterwards, she said, "We will be okay," adding, "What we do is take care of each other."
