The "Odong-dong Children's Safety Exploration Team" shared issues with the village's safety infrastructure from the children's perspective and delivered suggestions for improvement to the mayor.
The "Odong-dong Children's Safety Exploration Team" involves local children directly exploring their village, identifying safety issues they experience in daily life from a child's point of view, and presenting suggestions for improvement.
This Safety Exploration Team activity was carried out together with the Odong-dong Residents' Association, from discovering project topics to implementing them. It is an example showing that all residents can actively participate in solving community safety issues.
In addition, by recognizing problems themselves and proposing solutions, the children were able to develop leadership and a sense of participation as the next generation.
Lee Chaebin said, "I hope our village becomes even safer, and I want to do more activities with my friends for safety."
Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nam-pyo expressed his gratitude, saying, "The suggestions you have made are very valuable, and thanks to your courageous statements and participation, Changwon will become a safer and better city to live in." Mayor Hong also indicated that the village's safety infrastructure needs to be improved from the perspective of all age groups.
Based on this Children's Safety Exploration Team activity, the Odong-dong Administrative Welfare Center plans to continuously improve the community's safety infrastructure. On November 15, a "Children's Safety Experience Camp" based on the achievements of the Safety Exploration Team will be held at Seongho Elementary School.
