Famous YouTuber Kim Moobi (real name Kim Younghwa) confessed to being a victim of drug abuse in the past.
Recently, Kim posted a video titled "The Story of Being Drugged at a Club, Told Only Now" on his YouTube channel. In the video, he revealed that in 2018, he visited a club located in Hongdae, Seoul, and drank tequila laced with drugs. The so-called 'mulX' refers to a type of drug known as GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid).
Kim said that at the club, he drank two glasses of tequila given by strangers and then left the club. Later, while sitting at a bus stop near Hapjeong Station on Seoul Subway Line 6 to go home, he realized his cellphone was missing. Thinking he needed help from a friend, he borrowed a phone from a passerby and arranged to meet his friend at Exit 7 of Hapjeong Station.
However, while looking for Exit 7 of Hapjeong Station, he belatedly realized that he was actually at Bonghwasan Station on Line 6, not Hapjeong Station. The distance between Hapjeong Station and Bonghwasan Station is 44 minutes. All memories of the 44 minutes he spent traveling from the Hongdae club to Bonghwasan Station by subway had disappeared.
He recalled that his memory was almost completely fragmented during that time and that he wandered around in a daze for quite a while.
Kim, who had forgotten about the incident, only realized that he had been drugged that winter. He said, "I have close older siblings, and while chatting with them about various things, I mentioned this incident. Then one of them said my story was exactly like those of drug victims." He added, "At that time, many stories of drug victims were broadcast due to the Burning Sun scandal, and my case was very similar. I wasn’t even drunk, yet I had no memory. If I had been drunk, I wouldn’t have been able to control my body, but I acted and moved around naturally while unconscious."
Kim emphasized, "Drugs leave no trace in the body. You can’t prove it perfectly. If you don’t get tested immediately after the incident, the evidence is already expelled through urine and disappears." He stressed, "You really have to be careful when drinking at clubs or similar places."
The video has received comments such as "This exactly matches what I experienced two years ago. Creepy," "I have a strong tolerance, but I blacked out after drinking tequila someone gave me. Could it be?", "There are many people around me who have experienced this," and "I was also drugged at a club in Gangnam," indicating similar victimization.
