An active-duty Army captain was accidentally captured showing respect to a war veteran, touching netizens deeply.

On the 19th, a recent video submitted by a citizen named A was posted on the military-related Facebook page "Delivering Army Training Center News" (Yukdaejeon). A said that on the 14th, while walking through the Peace Plaza in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do, he witnessed what seemed like a dispute between an elderly man and a young man.

A approached closer and overheard their conversation. It turned out the young man was not arguing with the elderly man but was participating in a fundraising event. The elderly man was a war veteran collecting donations to support his comrades, and the young man, an active-duty Army captain, approached and gave all the cash he had on him.

Additionally, the captain reportedly said, "I don't have much cash," and offered to transfer more donations if the veteran sent his bank account number. Watching this, A said, "I thought it was admirable to see an active-duty soldier showing respect to a war veteran," and added, "I submitted this because I wanted many people to see this video."

In the video posted by A, the captain can be seen politely asking the elderly man sitting on a circular bench for his bank account number. When the elderly man stood up to shake hands out of gratitude, the captain respectfully bowed and clasped the veteran's hand.

Netizens who watched the video responded with touching comments such as, "This is the true image of soldiers," "Such war veterans should live well for generations," and "We are alive thanks to your sacrifice."
