Dong-A University held the "2024 Korea-China Youth Exchange Welcome Event," hosted by the Korea-China Friendship Association and the Consulate General of China in Busan, on the 14th at the International Hall Grand Conference Room on the Bumin Campus.
This event was organized to provide young people from both countries, who will play a leading role in future-oriented Korea-China relations, with the opportunity to visit each other's countries, explore history and culture, and broaden their understanding through extensive exchanges and dialogue.
Attendees included President Lee Haewoo, Shin Jungtaek (Chairman of Sewoon Steel and President of the Dong-A University Alumni Association), Seo Eutaek (Chairman of the Dongmyung Cultural Foundation and former President of Busan University of Foreign Studies), Ahn Sunjoo and Yang Eunkyung (professors at Pusan National University), auditors of the Korea-China Friendship Association, and Park Hyuntae, Director of International Affairs at Dong-A University, among other officials.
The visiting group consisted of a total of 27 students from Dong-A University, Tongmyong University, Pusan National University, Dongseo University, Silla University, Korea Maritime and Ocean University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Xi'an International Studies University.
During the welcome event, participants engaged in traditional craft-making experiences and toured the Seokdang Museum at Dong-A University as part of the Korea-China exchange program.
President Lee stated, "I am very pleased that Dong-A University is hosting the Korea-China youth exchange event organized by the Korea-China Friendship Association," adding, "I hope that young people will gain a deep understanding of Korean culture and history here in Busan and share valuable experiences with local university students." He continued, "Dong-A University supports the academic achievements of over 2,000 international students through an international educational environment and outstanding faculty," and said, "We will continue to strive to build deeper research and a global network."
