Dongkuk Steel Group announced on the 16th that it sponsored the '2024 815 Run' campaign to improve the living conditions of descendants of independence activists.
The 815 Run is a charity marathon event organized by Habitat for Humanity Korea, held annually since 2020 to commemorate Liberation Day. All donations are used to improve the housing environment for descendants of independence activists.
Dongkuk Steel Group donated a total of 20.65 million KRW to Habitat for Humanity Korea. This amount includes 8.15 million KRW in sponsorship funds and 12.5 million KRW from participation fees of about 250 employees and their families.

Dongkuk Steel Group stated, "We decided to sponsor because the purpose of the 815 Run aligns with Dongkuk Steel's social contribution system, 'A Better Society.'"
Dongkuk Steel Group is strengthening its social responsibility by expanding its support scope from soldiers (one company, one barracks), firefighters (supporting the Firefighters Mutual Aid Association), and police officers (scholarships for children of police officers) to include descendants of independence activists.
Habitat for Humanity is a leading international nonprofit organization for housing welfare that started in the United States in 1976. Over the past 30 years, Habitat for Humanity Korea has provided homes to 28,000 households domestically and abroad with the help of over 400,000 volunteers.
