Expansion of Geoje Transportation Network Expected to Benefit 'ePyeonhansesang Geoje Eurosky'

With the active expansion of the metropolitan transportation network, Geoje in Gyeongnam is expected to significantly enhance accessibility not only to the nearby Yeongnam region but also to the Seoul metropolitan area.

According to Geoje City, the Geoje-Tongyeong Expressway construction project was selected as a preliminary feasibility study target project earlier this year. This project, with a budget of approximately 1.7 trillion KRW, will connect a section of about 24 km from Geoje to Tongyeong. It is the first such project in about 20 years since the opening of the Daejeon-Tongyeong Expressway in 2005, raising expectations that Geoje’s long-awaited project will be resolved.

In addition, the construction of the Gadukdo New Airport is also drawing attention. Gadukdo is an island located between Busan and Geoje, connected by the Geoga Bridge, and the establishment of an air route through the new airport is expected to greatly improve accessibility to Geoje. Especially, the New Airport Railroad Connection Line project, which allows direct access from Busan and Ulsan to Gadukdo without transfers, was also selected as a preliminary feasibility study target project earlier this year. With the simultaneous expansion of metropolitan transportation networks including roads, aviation, and railways, Geoje’s accessibility to inland regions such as the Seoul metropolitan area is expected to be greatly strengthened.

Recently, with the recovery of the shipbuilding industry and major positive developments such as the Corporate Innovation Park, Geoje is welcoming large-scale transportation benefits, which is also showing positive signals in the real estate market.

In fact, for the e-Pyeonhansesang Geoje Euro Sky, which recently began occupancy in Geoje Big Island, the exclusive 99㎡ type occupancy rights were actually traded at around 700 million KRW this year. This marked the first transaction of an apartment in Geoje at the 700 million KRW level, and despite the nationwide real estate downturn, it recorded a new high price, becoming a hot topic in the industry.

A real estate expert in Geoje said, “Centered on Big Island, known as Geoje’s Marine City, interest from real estate buyers has started to extend beyond the Yeongnam region to the Seoul metropolitan area, and the large-scale transportation benefits will be an opportunity to attract even more metropolitan demand.” He added, “Among them, e-Pyeonhansesang Geoje Euro Sky, as the flagship property of Geoje Big Island, a marine complex city developed based on a pristine natural environment, is showing a good atmosphere by recording new high prices amid the market downturn with great interest.”

e-Pyeonhansesang Geoje Euro Sky has been expected as the next-generation flagship property of Geoje from the time of its sale, based on its prime location and product value. In fact, this complex not only offers convenient access to the infrastructure of Gohyeon-dong’s old town, which has the best living infrastructure in Geoje, but also to the infrastructure of Big Island, which includes a marina, hotel, shopping mall, and convention center. It is also attracting attention as a “Chopooma” complex, with the planned establishment of Gohyeon 1 Elementary School (tentative name) within the complex.
