National Pukyong University (President Jang Youngsoo) has received the highest grade, 'S Grade', in the 2024 National University Development Project performance evaluation.
Following last year's achievement of an A grade, National Pukyong University secured a total project budget of 18.2 billion KRW this year, including 9.5 billion KRW in incentives through this evaluation.
The National University Development Project, promoted by the Ministry of Education, is a program that supports national universities to serve as regional hubs for balanced development, strengthening their autonomous innovation, competitiveness, and accountability. A total of 37 national universities are participating in this project.
This performance evaluation, in addition to basic support, was conducted to provide additional incentives and assessed areas such as innovation outcomes, core educational achievements, and self-performance management.
National Pukyong University was recognized for its educational innovation achievements, including the introduction of advanced departments, multiple majors, and a liberal arts college, as well as systematic student support at each educational stage, and the implementation of student support systems utilizing advanced technologies such as AI and big data.
Additionally, the university was highly praised for clearly defining the roles of those driving educational innovation, expanding communication and participation, and systematically managing educational innovation outcomes.
Through this evaluation, National Pukyong University plans to continue its educational innovation to foster interdisciplinary professionals as a specialized comprehensive national university leading regional balanced development, and to focus its capabilities on strengthening the university's competitiveness to take the lead in regional community development.
