The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 11th that it is accepting applications for participation in the product evaluation meeting to select companies for entry into online and offline distribution channels. The distribution channels participating in this year's second half product evaluation meeting include Galleria, Lotte, Shinsegae, Hyundai, AK, and the five major department stores as well as Lotte Mart and LotteON, and the target applicants are domestic consumer goods manufacturing SMEs, with all product categories except large home appliances and furniture eligible.
SMEs that apply and pass the first document screening will have the opportunity to enter distribution channels through face-to-face evaluations with specialized product planners (MDs) by category at the product evaluation meeting. SMEs entering distribution channels through the evaluation meeting will receive benefits such as preferential commission rates and entry into SME-exclusive sales spaces. The document submission period for the evaluation meeting starts on August 12 and closes on September 26. The face-to-face evaluation through the product evaluation meeting is scheduled to be held on October 30.
The Korea Federation of SMEs has been supporting SME market expansion by holding product evaluation meetings linked with major distribution companies since starting consultation meetings for entry into Lotte Department Store in 2013. This year, two product evaluation meetings will be held to help more SMEs have opportunities to enter major distribution companies and support their market expansion.
Son Seong-won, Head of the Small Business Policy Office at the Korea Federation of SMEs, said, “Many SMEs still face difficulties in running their businesses because they cannot secure sales channels despite producing excellent products,” adding, “We hope this product evaluation meeting will be an opportunity for SMEs to secure sales channels for their excellent products and serve as a catalyst for their growth.”
