Daedong and Jeonnam Province Join Hands for a Major AI Transformation in Domestic Agriculture

Future Agriculture Solutions Distributed and Commercialized in Jeonnam Province

Daedong is accelerating the AI-driven transformation of domestic agriculture by partnering with Jeollanam-do to commercialize future agricultural solutions.

On the 6th, Daedong announced that it signed a business agreement with Jeollanam-do to promote the commercialization of AI agricultural robots, precision agriculture, green bio smart farms, and agricultural GPT as part of Daedong’s future projects, aiming to foster advanced agricultural industry and technological development.

Daedong has introduced future agricultural solutions such as Level 3 autonomous agricultural machinery, the agricultural chatbot ‘AI Daedongi’, and precision rice cultivation that maximizes harvest with minimal resources. These solutions are currently being demonstrated with large-scale agricultural organizations in preparation for commercialization. Daedong signed this agreement to distribute future agricultural solutions to farms in the Jeonnam region, creating a commercialization model suited to domestic conditions, accelerating the ‘AI-based advancement of the agricultural industry’, and contributing to the establishment of the AI advanced agricultural industry convergence zone that Jeollanam-do is preparing.

Initially, to expand AI agricultural robots in Jeonnam, from 2025, AI autonomous work agricultural machinery, transport, and pest control robots will be deployed at the advanced unmanned production pilot complex in Naju, Jeonnam, and agricultural data will be collected and analyzed. Through this, the goal is to commercialize Level 4 autonomous AI agricultural robots starting in 2026. Additionally, Jeonnam Province will establish rental offices within the province and provide usage and maintenance training for farmers, contributing to the establishment and activation of a private distribution system for AI agricultural robots. To expand precision agriculture services, from 2025, Jeonnam Province will cooperate with local farms to start precision agriculture pilot services. For this, services based on agricultural full-cycle data will be provided.

Won Yoo-hyun, CEO of Daedong, said, “In a situation where ‘the AI transformation of domestic agriculture’ to maximize agricultural productivity must be promoted through public-private cooperation, collaboration with Jeonnam Province will be the starting point for a paradigm shift in the agricultural industry.” He added, “Daedong will work organically with Jeonnam Province to create a successful case of a Jeonnam-specialized AI agricultural industry convergence zone that can serve as a milestone for domestic agriculture and provide farmers with sustainable future agricultural solution services that exceed expectations.”
