Gyeonggi Province has designated five additional 'Disability Activity Support Worker Training Institutions.'

On the 6th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it had selected five additional training institutions after conducting on-site inspections and evaluations of 29 disability activity support worker training institutions that applied through a public contest in May.

Disability activity support worker training institutions are organizations that train personnel to provide disability activity support services. Currently, there are 11 institutions, and with this additional designation, the number has increased to 16.

The newly designated institutions are ▲Gyeonggi-do Association of the Physically Disabled (Suwon) ▲Korea Community Research Institute (Anyang) ▲Social Cooperative Yongin Dounuri (Yongin) ▲Hanam Disabled Welfare Center (Hanam) ▲Yangju Disabled Independent Living Center (Yangju), totaling five institutions.

To become a disability activity support worker, one must complete 40 hours of theoretical and practical training followed by on-site practice. Prospective trainees should inquire in advance to check the training schedule and then apply.

Kim Young-hee, Director of the Disability Welfare Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "With this designation of training institutions, accessibility to training institutions will improve, and we expect to discover and nurture talented personnel in the region, thereby enhancing the quality of activity support services." She added, "We will regularly inspect the operation status of training institutions and manage them to ensure smooth on-site practice."
