Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) will hold the Gangbuk Yeoul Market event "Dalgona! Samyang" with an 80s retro concept on the 9th and 10th from 4 PM to 9 PM at Samyang Village Yard Park in Samyang-dong.

This event is subtitled "Dalgona! Samyang," using the nostalgic snack "Dalgona" from childhood and the root of the word "sweet" to express the warm and sweet charm of life in Samyang-dong as an exclamation.

To revitalize the local commercial district, the event will feature traditional market food booths, craft flea markets, experience programs, busking performances, and rest and play zones.

At the food booths, nine stores from four markets?Suyu Traditional Market, Jangmiwon Alley Market, Solsaem Market, and Baeknyeon Market?will sell 38 appetizing items such as fried chicken, Daegu-style soybean soup, and perilla seed bibim noodles. All menus are developed directly by market merchants and sold for under 10,000 KRW, and food purchased can be eaten in the rest zone.

Opposite the food booths, six craft artist teams active in the Samyang, Songcheon, and Samgaksan areas will operate booths selling handmade crafts and offering experience programs. Experience programs and play zones will also be available. On the park’s circular stage, busking performances will take visitors on a nostalgic journey.

Gangbuk-gu holds various concept "Gangbuk Yeoul Market" events quarterly, linking traditional markets with major local attractions to invigorate the local economy. In April, the "Spring Picnic" was held at Uicheon, and in June, "Camping in the Gaori" at the Gangbuk Culture and Arts Center received great responses from visitors. An event themed around autumn flowers is planned for October.

Mayor Lee Soon-hee emphasized, "Tourism content linking traditional markets and local cultural resources is revitalizing the area and activating the stagnant traditional markets and commercial districts," adding, "We will continue to hold events that highlight local characteristics and provide satisfaction to residents and visitors."
