Lee Bok-hyun, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, said that Koo Young-tae, CEO of Qoo10, is "acting like the boy who cried wolf."
On the afternoon of the 30th, Governor Lee attended an emergency inquiry by the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee. In response to a question from Yoon Han-hong, a member of the People Power Party, asking whether they were tracking funds despite CEO Koo claiming there were no funds, he said, "We try to trust as much as possible, but considering the recent actions and statements shown in our (Financial Supervisory Service) relationship, there have been quite a few behaviors like the boy who cried wolf."
He added, "We cannot trust him and have been focusing on tracking funds since last week."
Governor Lee emphasized, "During the fund tracking, we found strong traces of illegal activity and have requested an investigation by the prosecution. We have taken strong measures such as travel bans on key individuals. Nearly 20 personnel have been mobilized, and investigative staff have been dispatched to the prosecution. We will work together with the Fair Trade Commission."
