"When Complaining 'There Is a Rag in the Seasoned Chicken Feet'... Restaurant Says 'Employee Is Elderly'"

"Owner Explains: 'I Pay Special Attention to Hygiene'"

A controversy is growing after a story surfaced about a dishcloth being found in an order of chicken feet at a restaurant. The fact that the conspicuous dishcloth was mixed in with the seasoned chicken feet raises concerns about hygiene.

On the 29th, JTBC's 'Sageon Banjang' aired a story from a tipster, Mr. A. He said that on the 26th, he visited a restaurant and found a dishcloth in the container holding the chicken feet he ordered. The dishcloth was mixed in with the chicken feet and the bright red seasoning had already soaked into it.

Mr. A pointed out that the dishcloth was clearly visible on top of the food. He said, "When I called the staff, they tried to take it away without apologizing, saying it was a mistake." He added, "Only after I protested did they apologize, saying 'sorry'." He lamented, "The dining experience was ruined."

The restaurant owner was reportedly away from the store when the incident occurred. Later, the owner told JTBC, "We apologize to the customer," and explained, "I heard from the staff afterward, but since we did not have the customer's contact information, we couldn't apologize directly."

He continued, "I understand the staff apologized repeatedly," and said, "(The staff member) is an elderly person working in the kitchen, and it seems they accidentally left the dishcloth while seasoning. We usually pay special attention to hygiene, so we are truly sorry this happened," bowing his head again in apology.
