The police requested an emergency travel ban on Koo Young-bae, CEO of Qoo10, and others who were sued and accused in connection with the TMON and WEMAKEPRICE incident on the 29th.
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul requested an emergency travel ban around 6:30 p.m. on the same day for four individuals: CEO Koo, CEO Mok Ju-young of Qoo10 Korea, CEO Ryu Kwang-jin of TMON, and co-CEO Ryu Hwa-hyun of WEMAKEPRICE.
The police received complaints and accusations from consumers who suffered damages due to delayed settlements and refunds by TMON and WEMAKEPRICE and launched an investigation. Considering the scale and seriousness of the matter, the investigation began promptly immediately after receiving the complaints and accusations.
At around 2 p.m., lawyer Shim Jun-seop of the law firm Shim submitted complaints and accusations to the Gangnam Police Station against a total of five people, including CEO Koo and the CEOs and CFOs of TMON and WEMAKEPRICE, on charges of fraud, embezzlement, and breach of trust under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
