Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo met with Kim Dongil, Director General for Budget at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, on the 29th to request national funding support for key projects in 2025.

The proposed projects include: △Construction of Daejeon Urban Railway Line 2 (Tram) △Support for the operation of the Public Children's Rehabilitation Hospital △Construction of the Sajeonggyo-Hanbatgyo road △Establishment of a Veterans' Recreational Facility in the western region △Establishment of an integrated LTE-R wireless network for urban railways △Facility upgrades for the Korea Freedom Federation's Liberty Hall, among others.

Mayor Lee requested 184.6 billion won in national funding for the construction of the long-awaited Urban Railway Line 2 (Tram) in next year's budget.

He also proposed 5.1 billion won in support for the stable operation of the Daejeon Public Children's Rehabilitation Hospital, which opened in May last year, stating that a deficit is inevitable due to the nature of pediatric rehabilitation services.

Mayor Lee said, "This year marks the halfway point of the 8th popularly elected administration and is the time to achieve visible results from the projects we have been preparing. Until the government budget is finalized, we will maintain close cooperation with local politicians and the central government and focus all administrative resources on this effort."

Meanwhile, Daejeon City has set its target for securing national funding for 2025 at 4.4278 trillion won, and all employees, led by the mayor, are making every effort to achieve this goal.
