Pukyong National University (President Jang Youngsoo) will invest 40 billion KRW to expand the Second Fisheries Science Building in order to create a cutting-edge educational environment in the field of fisheries science, a traditional basic academic discipline.
On the afternoon of the 29th, Pukyong National University held a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of the Second Fisheries Science Building at the site in front of Jang Youngsil Hall on the Daeyeon Campus.
With the commencement of the groundbreaking ceremony, full-scale construction of the Second Fisheries Science Building will begin. The building will have one basement level and 14 above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 17,000 square meters, and is scheduled for completion in February 2026.
The building will house lecture rooms, laboratories, research rooms, and administrative offices for the departments belonging to the College of Fisheries Science at Pukyong National University.
Pukyong National University plans to establish an advanced educational and research infrastructure in the fisheries science field, centering on the Second Fisheries Science Building along with the existing five-story Fisheries Science Building.
Prior to this groundbreaking ceremony, on the 23rd, Pukyong National University held a completion ceremony for the newly expanded Humanities, Social Sciences, and Business Building. The university is also promoting the construction of new buildings such as the Advanced Experimental Practice Lecture Building, the College of Information Convergence, and the Student Union Building, thereby creating a campus environment for the advancement and convergence of education and research.
