In this design competition held since April this year, nine firms submitted their works. The city explained that on the 23rd, a judging committee was held, selecting one winning work and two honorable mentions.

The Icheon City Integrated Veterans Hall is planned to be built in Gwango-dong 6-1 with a total floor area of 2,440㎡. It will house local veterans organizations and a regional self-sufficiency center.

The winning design is characterized by the placement of a Memory Path and a Memorial Wall on the lower floors to remember history and reflect on the meaning of veterans. To coexist with the adjacent modern architectural heritage buildings in Gyeonggi-do, a "Communication Yard" and a "Coexistence Yard" were planned. In particular, it was evaluated as a work that will revitalize the old downtown area with a design considering linkage with the Changjeon-dong Administrative Welfare Center, which is scheduled to begin construction this year and be completed in the first half of 2026, and with an open external space configuration.

The winning firm will be awarded the contract rights for basic and detailed design services worth approximately 360 million KRW. Meanwhile, the second place in this competition was a joint entry by MOA Architects and 1901 Architects, and the third place was awarded to the work by Sloft Architects.
