The National Cancer Center announced on the 29th that it achieved an excellent grade of A in this year's management performance evaluation of other public institutions under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, based on last year's performance. This is the first time in two years since 2022 that the Cancer Center has received an excellent grade.
This year's management evaluation was conducted based on the management performance of 24 other public institutions under the Ministry of Health and Welfare last year. Among them, nine institutions, including the National Cancer Center, received an A grade.
In this evaluation, the National Cancer Center received high scores for achievements such as ▲ attracting global research and development (R&D) projects including the Korea-US joint cancer research ▲ launching new research projects for cancer survivor healthcare ▲ training programs for medical staff at the National Cancer Center of C?te d'Ivoire ▲ establishing pediatric and adolescent cancer treatment systems and supporting Gangwon National University Hospital's medical services ▲ promoting the construction, opening, and utilization of cancer big data. In addition, ▲ strengthening public communication for cancer prevention ▲ efforts in public communication and innovation, including providing accurate information on timely cancer issues through cancer information fact-checking, were also recognized.
Seo Hong-gwan, Director of the National Cancer Center, said, “Achieving this excellent grade is the result of concentrating the capabilities of all staff to accomplish our mission and management goals despite difficult medical conditions.” He added, “We will continue to create innovative outcomes and best practices that the public can feel, faithfully fulfilling the role of the national central cancer institution protecting the public from cancer.”
